Having children is one of the best achievements of my life! There is is no greater joy than watching my children grow and learn every day. The one thing that makes it even better, is when they look adorable doing it.
Both my girls love dressing up. They have always let me put them in so many dresses and outfits. However, I wish we did more tutus! They are so cute! I ordered a few online before, but they were usually scratchy and not all that great. I kinda just gave up.
When Just So Baby contacted me for a review, I couldn’t wait to see what they would send. My best friend just had a baby and this was going to be perfect to play dress up with for cute pictures. Look at what they sent!!
I was so surprised by the quality of the tutu. It was soft and not scratchy at all. It was bright and vibrant and made of really nice tulle.
Oh my goodness, can we take a second and talk about those shoes? Are they not the best bedazzled shoes you’ve seen?
When I mentioned it to the owner of Just So Baby, she was pleased to know I loved the shoes. However, she was a little upset on how a couple of the rhinestones overlapped one another and offered to send a whole other pair! Talk about meeting expectations. I thought they were gorgeous and reassured her they were perfect, just the way they were! I was happy to see though that she truly cares about her business and would do anything to see her customers satisfied!
I couldn’t wait to get this outfit on my best friends baby. This was absolutely perfect. This would make an ideal newborn or beginning months photo shoot for a baby girl.
Look at how perfect this outfit is!
You need to check out Just So Baby and get one of these for your babies or a friend! Her prices are crazy good for the quality you get!
LaKenya also makes adorable diaper cakes and other blinged out shoes! Ones that are covered in pearls or spikes depending if there for a boy or a girl!
As a breastfeeding mother, I feel it is important to feel supported. Breastfeeding anymore is filled with such a stigma that we as nursing mothers are made to feel bad about our choices on how we feed our babies. This bothers me to no end and that’s a whole other post and rant that I may at some point make. I do know, however, nursing a baby is a lot of work. Sometimes it takes blood, sweat and a lot of tears…..a lot! I think it’s a badge of honor we get to wear no matter if you made it 1 day or 2 years. Either way, it’s hard.
When I was contacted by a wonderful woman named Sharice from Latch Time, to see if I would review her baby onesies for breastfeeding support and awareness, of course, I said yes! Not only were the onesies adorable, but it was that nice little badge of honor that everyone could see. Not that I want to rub my lifestyle in anyone’s face, but I definitely feel like it was something to be proud about!
I struggled so hard with my oldest daughter to make it 10 months. It was an exhausting second job that had my anxiety at its peak. With my youngest daughter, it came so easy. I had a huge supply and it took me no time at all to feed her and carry on with what we were doing, sometimes multitasking.
When I received these onesies, my first initial reaction was that I was bummed because neither one of my girls were nursing anymore and two, they wouldn’t fit them anyway! haha. They were so cute! The colors could work for a boy or a girl and the graphic on the shirt was very well done. Excellent quality!
To do the perfect review, though, I had to find a cute baby to put in the onesies! Luckily, I knew just where to look!
“Here Comes Milky”
“Half Baby|Half Boob”
and my personal favorite…for obvious reasons
“Here Comes Milky”
Is he not the cutest????
The onesies are soft and very well done. The graphics are adorable and it’s something as a hard working mom that is nursing, can feel pretty darn good putting on their baby to wear! I LOVE IT!
Aside from the onesies, Latch Time offers wonderful support. They have a super encouraging Instagram that is full of images that are empowering. I highly suggest checking them out. I cannot say enough, how wonderful Sharice and Latch Time are!
Please please please, check them out. Visit them on their website, Instagram or Facebook/Support Group! Get some of these cute onesies! They have a great selection to choose from!
I will finish by saying this…..
Stand proud as a mom. We all work hard and it takes a village to raise a child. Stop the shameing and come together to do what is right for our children. Making the world brighter for them! Be proud of your accomplishments and help one another! No matter how you choose to parent, how you feed your child, we are all different and that is okay! Always remember that!
As a mom, you gotta love mom subscription boxes! It’s so awesome. Every month you get a present in the mail, that is just for you! You don’t even have to share it if you don’t want to! I love it. This box is from Ecocentric Mom, it offers all-natural and/or organic products. You can get either the mom, pregnancy or mom and baby box.
My Ecocentric Mom Box was the mom box and it came with a lot of stuff in it! Check this out!
First, it comes all wrapped up in pretty pink paper.
With a paper that has all the contents and prices of each item! As you can see the $24 box is stuffed with items well over that amount.
There were two items from Live Inspired Organics. A Strawberry Sugar Scrub, that smells and feels absolutely amazing…
and a sample bag of tea. I am a huge tea drinker. This made the perfect cup of tea. Great to drink before bed and just relax! Go Ohio!
Common Sense Naturals included a spray hand sanitizer. It smelled wonderful and the convenience of being able to clip this onto a diaper bag or my purse was great!
Simply Earth Roll-On Relief in a Happy Joy scent. This stuff is pretty great. It is very uplifting and does help reduce stress and tension!
A gift card for handbags from Ivory Clasp. I have yet to use this gift card, but I did look over the website. They will match your style and make suggestions. This is another subscription service companies.
A sample size of Maty’s Cough Syrup.
A really cute magnetic picture hanging craft. We are currently redoing our homeschool room and I think this will be a cute addition to add to my daughters’ desks!
Hunkola!! I was pretty excited about this. I LOVE food, especially snacking type of food. This made the whole box worth it! haha.
Overall this was a pretty awesome box. Great quality products, no gimmicks. I was really impressed. Plus, it was nice to get a “gift” just for me!
When it was shipped it came really quick. The website is very user-friendly and you can pick how you would like your subscription to be set up. The more months you do the cheaper your box becomes! I highly suggest checking out Ecocentric Mom! Trust me, you’ll love it!
I loved making lactation cookies when I was nursing my youngest daughter. I made multiple recipes, trying to find the perfect one. My issue was that most of the recipes were loaded with sugar, butter, and other junk. I just couldn’t do it. I needed to find a healthier organic recipe. I found a few different recipes that were okay, but not ideal. So, I decided to make up my own.
I am not a baker by any means. Which is probably why the last batch I made wasn’t great. Don’t get me wrong, the taste was great, but my steel cut oats were like little pebbles. I ate them anyway and they did the job! I filled my freezer with milk and was happy!
I’ve been waiting for the moment to redeem myself from my pebble cookies, and I finally got that shot! A friend of mine has been concerned about her supply. She went back to work and is currently under the weather, so I offered to make her some cookies.
Bring on the COOKIES!
Now, like I mentioned before, I wanted to make a healthy lactation cookie. Full of GOOD fats and tons of fiber! I didn’t want to use butter or white sugar. If you prefer to use butter and sugar, I’ll include the measurements in the recipe. I love that these can be dairy free, by buying dairy free chocolate chips. You can add dried fruits or raisins to really kick up the flavor. Make it your own!
Gather your ingredients
1/2 Cup Coconut Flour
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour (I forgot it to put it in the picture…oops!)
1 Cup Coconut Oil
3 Cups Steel Cut Oats/Rolled Oats
1 Cup Chocolate Chips (do not use bittersweet)
1 Cup Organic Coconut Palm Sugar
1 Tsp Sea Salt
1 Tsp Baking Soda
2-4 Tbsp Fenugreek
3 Tbsp Flax Seed Meal
6 Tbsp Hot Water
3 Tbsp Brewers Yeast
Step 1. Soak steel cut oats in milk.
*If you are using old fashion rolled oats, you can skip this step.
To avoid crunchy cookies and uncooked steel cut oats, do a quick soak. I read you can soak oats overnight to soften, but I didn’t want to wait. Here’s what I did.
Pour 3 cups steel cut oats in a glass bowl. Cover the oats with milk (I used almond milk. I’m sure water would have the same effect, just won’t have same texture).
I do not have a microwave, so I warmed the bowl for 20 mins in my toaster oven. Cook until the oats have absorbed the liquid.
Step 2. Prepare the flax seed.
If you have whole flax seeds you’ll need to grind them in a coffee grinder to make a meal. Put 3 Tbsp of flax meal into 6 Tbsp of HOT water and let sit for 5 mins. This will turn gelatinous. Do not use flax that is not ground. Whole flax seeds will not be absorbed.
Step 3. Grind brewer’s yeast.
Depending on how you buy your brewer’s yeast you may have to grind it. I couldn’t find brewer’s yeast in powder form. So, I found it in tablets and then ground them into a fine powder using my coffee grinder.
Step 4. Cream together coconut oil and sugar.
Get your mixer out and cream together the oil and the sugar. Now, if you’re not a coconut fan, you are more than welcome to use regular butter and sugar. You could even do half and half white and brown sugar. Make it however you want it. I just prefer coconut oil and coconut sugar!
Step 5. Add in flax and other wet ingredients.
Add it all in and give it a mix.
Step 6. Mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl and add supplements.
This is where you can go nuts. You can decide what you want to add and how much. I chose to use 1/2 cup coconut flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour. You can use whatever flour you have on hand. Add your salt, baking soda, and brewers yeast. Then, when adding your supplements, you choose the amounts. I personally use a lot of fenugreek. I feel like it really covers the bitter flavor of the brewer’s yeast. Plus, it gives it a great maple flavor! You can also add blackstrap molasses and blessed thistle supplements for an added boost. I’d just double check with a doctor to make sure you have no sensitivities or health conditions.
Step 7. Pour the wet mix into the dry mix.
Slowly add the wet mix to the dry mix and stir. Don’t over mix.
Step 8. Add the oats and fold in.
Step 9. Add chocolate chips.
You can also add any dried fruit to this mix. You can also rehydrate any dried fruit to make it plump up with baking!
Step 10. Bake the cookies.
Make round balls and flatten with your hands making discs that resemble cookies. You can also take spoonfuls and drop the dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 mins at 375 degrees F. This will create a soft cookie.
You can store in the refrigerator to keep them longer. Enjoy!
When I would make and eat the lactation cookies for myself, I would eat a cookie at every meal. You can up your intake if needed.
Lactation cookies are a great way to increase your breastmilk supply! I made this recipe to be as healthy as possible with a lot of fiber and nutrition, great for you and your baby!

Oh diapers… I can not wait till I don’t have to buy them anymore. However until that point, I try to be as picky as I can be with what brands I buy. Babies can have super sensitive skin and diapers can be one of the main reasons why they can get diaper rash. Conventional diapers bleach their cotton, use perfumes and fragrances and even chlorine. Not to mention, most that you buy can sit in the landfill for 500 YEARS before decomposing! YIKES!
I am a big supporter for cloth diapering. They are more of an investment in the beginning, but the money you save over time is huge. I’ve cloth diapered both my children to a certain age. Let’s be honest though, cloth diapers aren’t always the easiest when your on the go. The convenience of disposable diapers is huge.
A while back, I made a post about natural and organic brands for baby products. One of the categories were for diapers. Some of them I had already tried, but one I hadn’t yet was Bambo Nature. It was time!
Bambo offers a eco friendly diaper that is super absorbent, but doesn’t have any of the harmful chemicals or allergens.
My youngest is in diapers 24/7 and my oldest only wears some form of diaper or pull up to bed. I knew I’d be able to give these diapers a good test! Both of my girls wear a size 5, and Bambo’s sizing is true.
I have to mention that they are absolutely adorable and very soft!
They held up to every absorbency test that I could throw at them. If it was either overnight or a long outing, we never had an issue with leakage. The one thing I loved, was that it kept the moisture off the surface. So, even if the diaper was wet, it didn’t feel like that.
They are really flexible and held up the test of an 18 month of running around with just the diaper on. She’s pretty rough on diapers. One, she loves to be naked, so she definitely tried to rip it off a few times…it stayed on!
She’s got some thigh rolls and most diapers leave marks.. not these, she seemed pretty comfortable in them…
I mean, look at this diaper bum!
Is that not just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?
ok.. I may be a tad bit bias…
BUT, I really liked these diapers!
They are such a great alternative to conventional diapers.
They are not that much more either than conventional diapers and you get so much more with them. Knowing that they have zero irritants and allergens, means less diaper rash and less chemicals being introduced into your baby’s body!
You can easily get these diapers for Bambo’s website or other retailers. They also make pull ups and baby wipes!

As a mom, I use a lot of detergent, dish soap and cleaning supplies.. I’m always looking for new options as far as brands go. Yes, I always prefer to make my own, however if I run out of something, it’s nice to be able to reach for a bottle I trust to use around my kids.
The wonderful people over at Dapple sent me a few products to try just for that reason. They believe that products should be made with children in mind, and the messes that they make. For instance, using regular dish soap on bottles and sippy cups, they realized it was leaving a film and scent on all the bottles that they didn’t want. The lingering floral scent from the soap was not a safe mesh with the milk that was put in it.
They decided to make plant based products without any harmful chemicals or fragrances/perfumes, that was designed to clean up all the messes that children can make!
I love their message, because when I buy anything anymore, I turn the bottle over and read the ingredients. If there is one thing in the product that has me concerned to use around my daughters… I put it back. With cleaning products, it’s really easy to pollute your home, I do my best not to do so.
Dapple has some pretty awesome products. I encourage you to head over to their website and check them out!
Remember the dish soap I was talking about?
I really liked this. My kids…. well my 18 month old is an expert at hiding things, especially her sippy cup. So, when I see a hidden sippy cup, my stomach instantly turns. I’m praying it’s no more than a day old and it’s just water. However, that’s never the case.. It’s always a 2 or 3 day old sippy cup of almond milk. I can see the dreaded thick milk film on the side of the cup and consider just throwing the whole cup away!
This soap though is good! Cuts right through it with no problem! Big thing I like is that it is fragrance free. So, you don’t have the gagging smell of old almond milk and flowers. That happened once, never again!
Check out those ingredients! I love their humor too. Notice the difference though, most warning labels consist of “if consumed, contact poison control”. Not dapple, theirs say “drink water to dilute”. It’s all plant based and natural products. It can give moms that breathe easy feeling when it comes to cleaning products.
Next, Cleaning Spray!
Babies have blowouts. It happens A LOT! I’ve gotten pretty smart and stopped changing diapers on those pretty little changing table pillow cases. We have ruined more of those than I know. However, now that we’re changing on easy to clean surfaces, the last thing I want to do is spray some chemical filled spray where they will be laying on it again, an hour later. Just doesn’t seem right to me. Plus, most cleaners have bleach or stinky chemicals to where their room now smells.
Dapple has an awesome lemon scented spray that cuts through any disgusting mess and leaves a clean smell after. It’s their nursery cleaner and I love it. I don’t only just use it in the nursery, but also for wiping down highchairs and their food trays.
I want you to go find the cleaner you are using now. Read the warning label. I bet most don’t say just drink a glass of water if ingested.. Once again… it’s safe! They even have a little tip which I know a lot of people don’t consider when they are buying a “natural” product. You have to read your ingredients..Some can still have allergens and toxic by products.
I really love this brand!
What every kitchen needs….Cleaning Wipes!
After our kids are done eating or while we are cleaning the kitchen, most people reach for a tub of cleaning wipes. If this is you, I encourage you to read the ingredients. Most of us know that cleaning wipes consist of bleach. Not exactly kid friendly.
Dapple cleaning wipes really cut through the grit and grime and clean! I was pretty impressed when I used it on my stove. I am an incredibly messy person when it comes to cooking. Things overflow and get cooked onto my stove top. I have sauces and oils all over the counter and my oldest never fails to say “mommy, you made a mess!”
I love how durable the wipes are and the messes it can easily clean. They can scrub and not crumble and tear, but they are so gentle when needed.
Once again, look at the ingredients. Cleaners made from vegetables, sugar and apples! Hard to believe considering how well these wipes clean! Great to have in the car too. I’ve spilled my coffee in the console and didn’t have the time to clean it up right away. What a sticky mess. Used a wipe and bam it was gone and no sticky residue.
Last, but definitely not least…. Laundry Soap!
Now, this may not pertain to all moms, but I like to cloth diaper. It was always such a pain though to find a safe detergent that I could use that was compatible with my inserts and covers. Plus, my youngest breaks out with eczema here and there, so a natural soap is important. Finding something that fit both of these categories and actually cleaned was difficult.
Dapple cut through the poopy diapers, cleaned the clothes, and didn’t make Remy’s eczema act up.
All of the cleaning agents are derived from vegetables, glucose and coconuts. Love it!
Overall, dapple is pretty awesome. I was so excited to see that when they say it’s safe for babies and children….they mean it! It’s just not a labeling scheme to get you to buy. They taking quality ingredients and make something great for families.
I’d recommend Dapple 100%!
Check them out on Facebook or their Website….either way.. make sure you see what all they have to offer!!
Having children can make you a nervous wreck. You’re now responsible for this little human, to keep them happy and healthy. The happy part is pretty easy. Well, unless you’re child is like my youngest daughter, then it makes things a little more of challenge. However, for the most part, you play with them and give them attention and they are content. Keeping them healthy seems like it is a pretty easy job, but looking at labels anymore can make any heart race. So many preservatives, artificial who knows what and chemicals galore. Their little bodies and their super thin skin can be easily irritated by the smallest things. That’s why as parents we need to conscious of what we buy and use. To top it off, most of these chemicals are cancer causing. I know, I personally never want my child to ever have to go through something like that.
One thing to remember, just because the store sells it, doesn’t mean it’s safe. One large company years ago……*cough Johnson and Johnson *cough, finally removed formaldehyde from their ingredients and lately were sued for causing ovarian cancer with their talc (baby powder). It’s crazy to me. Just because they label products “soft” and “gentle”, could be anything but that. Or even better, using the words “natural”, when really only 1 ingredient is. Just be aware and read your labels. If you can’t pronounce it, google it or look the product up yourself on the Environmental Working Group page.
Luckily, there are so many great companies that offer alternatives to many of the products we buy for our children. Yes, they might cost a little more, but it’s worth it.
I’ve been researching a lot of these companies and thinking about all the categories needing to cover. Anything and everything that touches their skin.. Eating is a whole other post.. but this is what I came up with. Please look at the ingredients list closely as most links just get you to a main page of products. If you question a product, run it through the EWG. Overall I hope this helps raise awareness to safer products to use for your children.
My list grows everyday as I’m a mom that wants to use what’s best. If I find something I don’t like, I stop using it and move on. I haven’t personally tried every single one of these brands. Like I mentioned, this was mainly researching these brands and seeing what I thought was best. Use your best judgement.
Do you have any comments about the brands I have listed? How would you rate them on your own scale? Share in the comments below!
